OEMs depend on precise parts for high-quality performance
Custom metal milling capabilities are a critical step in the process of completing high-quality projects for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Titletown Manufacturing has the ability to take projects from raw materials through large part machining and custom metal milling, all the way through fabrication and machine assembly.
Many of our custom metal milling projects begin with pre-machining operations that trim stock down to a more workable size. This can require laser cuts, the use of water jet materials, and other cutting technology depending on the size of the stock and target dimensions.
“OEMs depend on us to produce parts that meet very tight tolerances,” says Chris Fuss, co-owner of Titletown Manufacturing. “We have invested in custom metal milling equipment that enables us to come within .0005 inches of spec.”
Custom metal milling can serve as an intermediate step
Our team has access to horizontal and vertical machining centers for custom metal milling operations, depending on the part. As precise as this output is, we also can use metal surface grinding technology as appropriate to bring parts to a level superior to what we can achieve through custom metal milling.
Metal surface grinding enables us to achieve additional accuracy or specific surface characteristics depending on the requirements of our customer. This step has the capability of reducing variances to within .0001 inches of spec.
Titletown Manufacturing’s ability to perform operations as diverse as custom metal milling, fabrication and machine assembly under one roof differentiates us from most small and mid-size shops. We are able to maintain consistent quality control of multi-step projects while minimizing turnaround times and costs to our customers.
