MECA & Technology Machine Engineers High-Performance Carbon Fiber Sleeves
GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – Flexographic printers increasingly are viewing carbon fiber sleeves as must-have components in their quest to retain quality while boosting productivity. MECA & Technology Machine, Inc., is an industry leader in the production of carbon fiber sleeves designed to maximize the capabilities of today’s high-speed presses.
Light-weight carbon fiber sleeves offer the advantage of maintaining their stiffness at the point of impression as well as reducing about 25% of the weight. The lighter weights also are easier on power sources, giving operators the option of using smaller drive motors without sacrificing productivity.
MECA & Technology Machine engineers its carbon fiber sleeves for faster changeovers and minimal downtime. The sleeves provide a cost-effective option to storing mounted cylinders.
“Carbon fiber sleeves feature enhanced vibration absorption properties that are essential when running at high press speeds,” said Mick Karchinski, Vice President of Sales. “Now that this material has become more affordable, many printers are opting for carbon fiber’s attractive return on investment, especially when paired with the ability to run at faster speeds.”
MECA’s plate sleeves used in conjunction with MECA’s Carbon Fiber Bridge Sleeves deliver the high standards that printers are accustomed to. MECA guarantees a best in the industry TIR of +/- .00075” and OD of +/-.00075”.
Also manufactured using carbon fiber, the company’s Variable Speed Offset Printing (VSOP) sleeves maintain dimensional stability under heat, humidity and pressure changes. MECA & Technology Machine is the only sleeve manufacturer in North America certified to offer VSOP plate and blanket sleeves.
