Engineering Expertise Generates High-Quality Products for Converters
Identifying correct patterns to get a correct release on coating rolls within coating, laminating and gravure applications can be difficult. That is why converters across North America source their coater rolls from MECA Solutions, an industry-leading machining manufacturer committed to exceptional performance across multiple applications.
MECA engineers are equipped to design coater roll solutions that meet customer needs regardless of configuration. We can identify a coating pattern that will apply any specific amount of coating or material to substrate. MECA has over 300 engraving tools to choose the correct pattern to get the coating release needed for you application.
“Our engineering and production teams focus on delivering coater rolls that meet the target coating weight specified by the customer,” said Tom Kawula, Wide Web and Roll Manufacturing Manager at MECA. “We’ve earned our customer’s trust by continually supplying rolls that meet their target coating weight by using a carefully selected pattern based on our calculation and their materials.”
Exceptional Performance From MECA Coater Rolls
Converting customers depend on premium coater rolls to maintain dimensional stability with minimal total indicated runout (TIR) at high press speeds over extended periods. Older rolls that develop a TIR of more than 0.0005 inch should be replaced or repaired. Rolls that are out of round by more than that amount should be sent in for evaluation.
“Whether our customers need replacement coater rolls with unique covers, pickup rolls with specific characteristics or any other type of roll, they know they can depend on MECA for rollers with the tightest tolerances available,” Kawula said. “The term ‘coater roll’ can apply to many things. Tell us what you need and our team will make it happen.”
