Wisconsin Drug Testing Consortium is a Certified TPA
Finding affordable drug testing is a consistent business objective for owner-operators and companies that employ drivers that fall under DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Wisconsin Drug Testing Consortium (WDTC) fulfills that need with affordable drug testing through random DOT testing programs.
WDTC’s role as a drug-testing consortium is to manage all or part of our customers’ DOT-mandated drug and alcohol testing program. Maintenance of required testing records is another valuable role we provide that contributes to more affordable drug testing costs.
Our ability to perform a variety of employer functions pertaining to DOT testing relieves your staff of time-consuming tasks that do not add value to your operations. As a Certified Third Party Administrator (C-TPA), WDTC is responsible for staying on top of DOT regulations and which tasks we may perform for an employer.
Affordable drug testing does not alleviate employers of responsibility
WDTC has built a reputation as a trusted expert in DOT regulations and a leader among consortiums offering affordable drug testing services. However, employers are still responsible for any errors resulting in civil penalty actions for noncompliance.
C-TPAs such as WDTC are allowed exceptions regarding owner-operators and other self-employed individuals in our role in administering drug testing consortiums. These exceptions include:
- The transmission of substance abuse professional reports
- Reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing
- Driver refusals for owner-operators and other self-employed individuals who fail to test after being schedule and notified
