Denmark School District voters entrusted the school board with the task of bringing their aging high school into the present when they passed a $14.9 million referendum for renovations, gymnasium construction and additions. IEI General Contractors provided the local expertise to make those referendum wishes come true.
IEI General Contractors completes gymnasium construction and additions at Denmark High School
Denmark High School was showing its age in more ways than one when IEI broke ground on a major addition to the more than 50-year-old building in the fall of 2017. Almost exactly one year later, the $14.9 million project was complete and ready to serve the next generations of students.
IEI teams provided demolition, carpentry and masonry services throughout the project. Renovations to the existing building included the auditorium, boys and girls locker rooms, and a finish upgrade to the cafeteria.
The major portion of the project focused on the gymnasium construction featuring a 25,000-square-foot gymnasium and 20,000 square feet dedicated to a fitness room, wrestling/multi-purpose room, public restrooms and an agriculture science room. A 6,000-square-foot glass atrium lobby and a six-bay maintenance garage rounded out the project.
