Personnel Changes Highlight Company’s Growth
De Pere, Wis. — IEI General Contractors, Inc. is pleased to announces new co-owner and personnel changes within the company.
Brandon Martzke was named co-owner and vice president of administration on Aug. 13. Martzke holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management technology and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology, both from Michigan Tech. He has worked as a project manager since being hired in 2008.
“Brandon has clearly demonstrated his commitment to IEI and our customers over the years and we are pleased to welcome him to the co-owner family,” says Mike Johnson, chairman of the board.
Nick Zeamer has also been hired as a project manager. Zeamer has held a number of positions in the industry throughout his career and most recently served as a field engineer with Market & Johnson. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie.
“Nick’s dedication and attention to detail, among other admirable qualities, make him a valued addition to the IEI team,” Johnson says.
Project Manager Kevin Hanson has been named to the IEI board of directors. Previously with Shopko Stores, Inc., Hanson joined IEI in August 1997.
“Kevin has been an asset to the IEI team for nearly 18 years and has been a great resource both internally and with our valued customers,” Johnson says.

Mike Johnson, Chairman of the Board
Johnson is a co-founder of IEI General Contractors along with Brad DePrez. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education from Northern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Lawrence Institute of Technology. His extensive industry experience includes architectural drafting, designing, project coordination, management and estimation.
Chris Berg, Board President
Berg joined IEI in 1990 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in Industrial Technology with a concentration in building construction. His responsibilities include building and maintaining IEI’s computer estimating system, maintaining and updating the bid notification system, as well as estimating jobs and managing them. A co-owner of IEI, Berg was named president in November 2012.
Rick Geurts, Vice President of Field Operations
Rick joined IEI in 1989 and has served in multiple capacities during his time with the company. His responsibilities have included estimating, purchasing, scheduling, cost control, field coordination and job site superintendent on commercial and industrial construction projects. Rick is associated with the Carpenters Union Local No. 1146 of Green Bay.
Brad DePrez, Secretary and Treasurer
DePrez is a co-founder of IEI General Contractors, Inc. along with Johnson and serves as the company’s chief financial officer. He graduated from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College with a degree in Accounting. He is a trustee on the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters Pension and Health Funds, and chairman of the Northeast Wisconsin Joint Apprenticeship Committee for Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen.
Founded in 1989 by Mike Johnson and Brad DePrez, IEI General Contractors, Inc. specializes in commercial building and industrial construction projects.
