Manufacturing Capability Places Wisconsin Company Among World’s Elite
July 24, 2014
GREEN BAY, Wis. – MECA & Technology Machine Inc. has introduced a new carbon fiber anilox printing sleeve that is believed to be the largest in the world.
“Our customer looked all over the world for a manufacturer who could build carbon fiber sleeves of this size,” said Mick Karchinski, Vice President of Sales. “Our ability to custom-design sleeves of this magnitude provides an additional benefit for all of our customers.”
Carbon fiber features the strength of steel with only about 25 percent of the weight. The vibration absorption properties characteristic of carbon fiber cylinders provide an additional benefit, requiring less maintenance while being safer to use.
The significant reduction in weight generates less inertia, enabling machines to stop much faster than those running cylinders made from steel. In addition, carbon fiber cylinders do not require heavy-duty bearings.
MECA & Technology Machine employs approximately 50 people at its Green Bay, Wis., facilities. For more information, call Mick Karchinski at (920) 336-7382.
