Planning for a major event such as a university commencement ceremony involves coordinating dozens of moving parts and attending to countless details. Sometimes, things fall through the cracks only to be discovered in an OMG moment at the last minute.
Such was the case with the University of Leadership and Ministry, which contacted Medalcraft Mint just two weeks before its graduation ceremony in desperate need of a ceremonial mace and graduation medals. The timing of the request left just nine days to complete the order and ship it in time.
That’s a tall order considering it typically takes eight weeks to produce a custom ceremonial mace and four weeks for graduation medals. Undaunted, the Medalcraft Mint production team accepted the challenge and set about finding a way to meet that deadline.
Medalcraft Mint was able to use stock product already on-site to produce the ceremonial mace and four different graduation medals. The 42-inch cherry wood mace featured four 3-inch brass medallions with an antique finish around the four faces of the crown, while the 2.5-inch brass graduation medals honoring the valedictorian, salutatorian, honor graduates and summa cum laude graduates also had antique finishes.
The ceremony was the night of August 9, 2019, and the order was delivered that morning. Never a doubt.
