Large Format, High-Precision Waterjet Is Latest Robinson Metal, Inc. Investment
Robinson Metal, Inc. has completed its second significant equipment investment of the summer with the purchase of a WARDJet R-2014 Waterjet large format, high-precision waterjet. The equipment allows multiple large sheets of material to be loaded and cut at the same time, improving the quality and efficiency of Robinson’s cutting operations.
Earlier this summer, the company purchased a SNK RB-5M Bridge Mill. The five-speed, multi-center machine combines automated capabilities with high-precision, high-output machining for increased capacity in producing precision parts for a wide range of industrial customers.
“The WARDJet R-2014 Waterjet is another example of our commitment to improving quality and efficiency,” said Jamie Tilkens, Robinson Fabrication and Machine division manager. “WARDJet is an Ohio-based industry leader in the waterjet cutting industry, which provides us with a high-quality, American-made product.”
Robinson Metal’s Fab & Machine division is an industry leader in the production of individual parts through full turnkey projects. The division’s team members have expertise in every step of the production process, from engineering and reverse-engineering through production, assembly and factory acceptance testing.
WARDJet R-2014 Waterjet is an Advanced Asset
The WARDJet R-2014 Waterjet provides Robinson technicians with a 14 x 20-foot bed size and 60,000 psi power for large format precision cutting. The machine supplements Robinson’s existing waterjet equipment for additional production capabilities.
The machine’s helical rack and split pinion drive system produces highly accurate waterjet cutting for large format projects, including heavy plate. Multiple cutting heads can be added for large format high production. The R-2014 offers a 20-foot cutting area length and 13.1-foot width.
“The WARDJet R-2014 Waterjet, along with the SNK RB-5M Bridge Mill we added earlier, gives us the ability to meet our customers’ expectations in a more efficient manner and create greater value,” Tilkens said.
